Gallagher - the inspiration and namesake for Gallagher’s Water - was recently diagnosed with Cushing's disease.  A likely candidate, Gallagher displayed all the typical signs. His vet decided that additional blood work was needed in order to get a clear understanding of his health situation. Previous testing had produced a negative result, but he was still considered “borderline". As a precaution, he had already been on a low starch, low sugar diet. Now we know the true picture and we can begin him on a daily medication in order to help him out even more.

For almost two years, Gallagher has had a daily serving of Gallagher's Water which has provided him with many benefits: replenishing fluids lost during workouts and hauling were the most crucial. Gallagher has always produced only moderate amounts of sweat. His handlers and trainers have noticed a huge improvement in the amount of sweat he now produces - even through the hottest months of the year in the brutal heat and humidity in South Louisiana. This improvement has certainly been a welcome relief!

Now that Gallagher has been officially diagnosed with Cushing’s, he will be switched over to the No Sugar Gallagher's Water formula exclusively. He has had both the Original Formula and the No Addend Sugar Formula and it does not make any difference to him at all. Like most horses, he is all about that rich, creamy alfalfa flavor which sets this product apart from all the others.

We will continue to monitor his condition, but in all likelihood, he will not miss a beat.  He will continue to be shown and trail ridden and do all of the things he has done. We look forward to many more years with Gallagher!
