While you can use Gallagher’s Water any time you want to get fluids into your horse (or other livestock) quickly, our customers have found it especially helpful in these situations.

Travel.Travel is stressful and horses use a lot of muscles to maintain balance while being transported. Often, horses will not drink on the trailer or refuse water at their destination. Gallagher’s Water has been tested in many different waters, and horses will drink when offered Gallagher’s Water. Prepare your horse for travel by serving Gallagher’s Water before you begin your journey. Serve it in transit on long journeys to keep your horse hydrated. Offer it at your destination to help your horse recover quickly.

Competition or exercise. Hydrate your horse quickly after competition or exercise by serving them Gallagher’s Water as a recovery drink. Horses think it’s a treat, you know you’re getting water and electrolytes in them to replace what was lost during exertion. For halter or in-hand horses, you want them to look filled out and in great condition. Ensuring they are hydrated will avoid a ‘flanky’ look, giving you a healthy edge on your competition.

Colic. Many customers and veterinarians have found that offering a horse Gallagher’s Water at the first signs of colic may alleviate symptoms. Often, horses colic because they are not hydrated and Gallagher’s Water can get them to drink. Always contact your vet if your horse colics.

Broodmares. Giving birth is hard work and nursing a foal can dehydrate a mare quickly. Offering Gallagher’s Water regularly can help her stay in top shape as she raises the next generation.

Temperature changes. When temperatures go up or down drastically, horses may stop drinking or not drink enough, leading to other issues like colic. If you’re expecting changing weather, offer your horse Gallagher’s Water to ensure they stay hydrated.

Hot weather. High temperatures and humidity can take a toll on a horse through excessive sweating. Replace lost fluids and electrolytes with Gallagher’s Water.

Cold weather. In cold temperatures, horses tend to drink less. This can lead to other issues like colic. Avoid winter dehydration by offering Gallagher’s Water to your horse. To make it an extra special treat, mix the powder with warm water.

These are just some of the times when you’ll find Gallagher’s Water useful. When served daily, it will become part of your feeding and hydration program. Remember to introduce your horse to Gallagher’s Water before you have an emergency situation to ensure they are familiar with it.

As always, consult your veterinarian before offering your horse something new.
