We often get asked “How often can I serve Gallagher’s Water?”

A typical horse’s stomach has a capacity between two and four gallons and they can drink up to fifteen gallons of water per day. It is safe to give a horse two or three - sometimes even four - servings of Gallagher’s Water per day at intervals, depending on their age, condition, athletic needs, and the temperature and humidity conditions that are present. Even in cold weather, it is important to monitor water intake very carefully.

We formulated Gallagher’s Water to work with two gallons of water. This eliminates the need to lug around a full five-gallon bucket - who wants to do that when stopping to fuel up and water the horse?! Our teal bucket is the perfect size for mixing up a serving for your horse.

Also worth noting: many people have their horses on a daily serving of Gallagher's Water as a type of hydration maintenance.

If your horse has Cushings or some other metabolic condition which requires limited sugar intake, consider using our NO SUGAR ADDED formula. It has the same flavor and benefits as the Original formula, but without added sugar.

As always, please consult with your Veterinarian before introducing new and different dietary feeds and supplements.
